ABOUT ME

My name is Mia Parkhurst and I am a sophomore at Menlo-Atherton High School in Menlo Park, CA, and I play defense for Lloyd Grist and the CA Thorns U16/17 Development Academy. Although Soccer is my first love, I played competitive club basketball my whole childhood up until recently. I work closely with my dad off of the soccer field who was previously a strength & conditioning coach. We work on general fitness, athleticism, strength training, and speed training. I love sports and the competitive mentality it brings to my life. My family’s background encompasses the world of athletics. My sister Zoë is an amazing soccer player with the CA Thorns. My Mom played competitive club basketball as a kid and was a recruited walk-on at Cal. My Dad played Baseball and Football in High School and Junior College. He was also an All-American Rugby Player at Cal. My Grandfather was a College Football Player and a College Football Coach and Administrator for 35 years. I am very excited about where I am as a soccer player and look forward to my continued development and improvement over the next 2 1/2 years. I play Outside Back and Center Back on my current team, and I have also played Wing on my previous U15 Development Academy Team. Prior to joining the CA Thorns, I spent 5 years playing for Gary and Carine Ireland at PSV Union FC.
